Bird watching destination Goa

Goa is one of the most popular tourist destination in India, where tourist from all over the world visit all year round but specially from November to February when atmosphere is festive in whole of Goa.

Situated at the southwest coast of India, surrounded by Maharashtra in North to Karnataka in south and east. The scenic beauty of Goa provided by the nature and rich flora and fauna makes it a good bird watching destination. Around 450 species of birds are noted in Goa which includes common hawki cuckoos, grey bvellied cuckoos, Indian swiftlet etc.

Birding season in Goa starts from October and goes up to February during which many birding trails are been organised in the state. Goa state promote avi-tourism in a big way, which is why there is large number of birders who visit Goa on a regular basis.

The Sahyadris is considered as the best birding region in Goa. It houses stunning species of rare and endangered birds.

Goa offers a great number of wildlife sanctuaries which are home to many species of different types of birds.
