Bird watching destination Telangana

Telangana was introduced as a new state on 2nd June 2014 and is unique and formidable in its own ways. The entire state of Telangana experiences a semi-arid weather condition, best time to pay a visit to this state is between September and March. It usually is hot and dry but winters are pleasant there and it rains moderately.

Beautiful city of Hyderabad is the capital of this state and has become a major bird watching place. Although Hyderabad has lost its greenery and many water bodies due to many situations, but the population of birds in Hyderabad has not been affected.

Hyderabad offers many birding locations such as-

Ameenpur Lake – With the help of NGOs and cleaning of the area have helped to maintain the beauty and the credibility of this place and now it supports more than 200 species of birds, namely, Flamingos, Painted Storks, Asian Openbills, kestrels, kingfishers, bee-eaters, Hoopoes, and pelicans.

Osmansagar Lake- Also known as the Gandipet Lake, this water body has been providing fresh water to the city for many years. This place is an ideal location for sighting of flamingos. A huge population of spoonbills, darters and Painted Storks can also be commonly spotted here.
