Ramnagar is a small town and municipal board in the Nainital District of Uttarakhand. It is located approximately 65 kilometres from Nainital, the headquarters of the district. Ramnagar is the gateway to the Corbett National Park, the oldest National Park and a famous tourist destination of India. Garjiya Devi Temple and Sitabani temple, Sitabani Wildlife Reserve located nearby also attracts many visitors.
Ramnagar is located at the foothills of the Himalayas on the bank of river Kosi. Ramnagar is the gateway to western Kumaon and Garhwal.

Hornbills, Nuthatches, Treecreepers, Bulbuls, Magpies, Great Hornbills, Birds of Prey, Long Billed Thrushes, Brown dippers, Owls, Fantails, Flycatchers, Paradise Flycatchers, Eagles, Barbets Nut hatches, Owlets, Woodpeckers, Vultures, Lapwings, Hornbills, Babblers, Bulbuls, Siberian cranes, Rosy Pelican, Ruff, Bluethroat, Eurasian Golden Oriole and Asian Koel, Mallards, Greylag Geese, Gadwalls, Teals, Shovelers, Pochards and Coots are some of the many bird species that can be seen here. Migratory birds travel from Serbia and Ladakh.
The arrival of the birds is witnessed from November onwards and continues till December. Their return is marked by the spring season. Siberian cranes, Rosy Pelican, Ruff, Bluethroat, Eurasian Golden Oriole and Asian Koel are some of the popular varieties of migratory birds.

This is the last plain foothill station in the region and from here hills start. This is the base location for stay who come here to visit Jim Corbett National Park. This place is mostly run for tourists and has multiple options of stay outside the Jim Corbett National Park. A nice place to visit in winters. People visit this place in summer to o, specially when they are travelling for tiger sighting in Jim Corbett National Park.
