Species spotted1047We went to Bharatpur for the bird sanctuary & met Lokesh ji at IbisHouse farm stay (where we'd booked a suite) & got to know about his experience & his knowledge by Mukesh ji, his elder brother. We subsequently decided to hire him as our guide & we are so glad that we did! Lokesh ji is a very humble, patient & competent guide. He's also a photographer, as we got to know when we asked him to take the photographs of the birds we saw (as we are all novices, but eager to learn). I will highly recommend anyone who is planning on watching birds in Rajasthan or Uttarakhand, to hire Lokesh ji as your guide. You won't regret, I promise.
Spectacular birding was experienced with Lokesh in Bharatpur at Keoladeo Park and environs! To be accompanied by an expert guide with a sporting scope enhanced our birding adventure tremendously. Lokesh quickly identified multiple species and ever so quickly had the spotting scope set up for ease of viewing. He also assisted with photos taken through the scope as he is an experienced photographer as well! I heartily recommend him as a birding guide who is also very pleasant in all his interactions. In total, over two days we identified 93 species with his assistance!
Additionally we stayed at his family's guest house and all our needs were wonderfully taken care of. Thanks for a most memorable trip, Lokesh!
We booked IbisHouse Farm for 5 nights.
We arrived in Bharatpur very early but it was no problem at all. Lokesh welcomed us very warmly before 9 a.m.
We got coffee and were taken to our splendid room by his brother Chendar who cooked our meals and cleaned our room. The next morning Lokesh guided us in Keoladeo park and thanks to him we could make some very nice pictures. Lokesh is a very experienced guide but even more important a very friendly person. His father- Ratan Singh- and his older brother Mukesh are also very friendly as well as the rest of his family. The location of Ibis House is superb.
This was definitely our best experience in India!
We met Lokesh during our stay at Ibis Farm house stay. We had a wonderful time and added 1 night to this stay because we loved it!
The first day we went for a walk around the area and because of Lokesh we saw a lot of little birds and were really surprised how many. Lokesh can hear and see them all! The 2nd day we went for a walk/ride in Keoladeo and also there Lokesh was a remarkable guide. Calm, joyful, and with respect.
We loved the atmosphere he and his family created.
I recommend to take this guide for all your nature walks around Bharatpur and more!
Lokesh looked after my partner and I at Keoladeo earlier this year. Not only is he an expert guide but most helpful and friendly company. I have no hesitation in recommending his services

Species spotted1082Two weeks in mid-February 2020 with Rofeeq as quide to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh was truly memorable and could not have been better with any other guide. Due to his fantastic skills of hearing the most minute bird calls and knowing the species responsible resulted in us finding even the rarest and most difficult to see birds. An incredible 402 bird species for 12 days in February we saw! On top of that he also knows all the mammals and most butterflies etc etc. and is a pleasure to travel and bird with. So truly recommended. Our best guide ever! Thank you so much Rofeeq!
Nov 2019 I had the pleasure to spend 25 days in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh with Rofeeq as my guide for the entire trip. His commitment to finding the birds is absolute, he uses his ears, eyes, and his vast knowledge of environment to find the birds, and is extremely adept at helping his client to view and to photograph them. Being a professional photographer himself, he is excellent at positioning the client for the best shot. Since I am a beginning birder, my wish was to go "slow birding", to enjoy and observe, rather than ticking off a list and grabbing a quick shot. Rofeeq understood completely. He loves observing bird behavior himself, and together we observed patiently. When not guiding, Rofeeq is out in the field travelling and birding with friends, and ever learning. He is truly committed, and one of the all time greats!
There's not enough stars to justify this rating 🙂
It's epic to go birding with Rofik. His uncanny ability to spot, hear and predict birds is extraordinary. Breathes life to the birding experience, he's more a mentor than a guide! One with nature, he's warm, funny and caring. His experience in birding is unparalleled, you can count on him to show you what India has to offer!
It was a rich experience birding with Rofikul. He has a very good ear for bird calls and is a great spotter. You can be sure he will do his best to find a bird in your wish list. Look forward to birding with him again.
An excellent guide, who is patient with his clients ensuring everyone in the group sees the birds. His ID is very good, recognizing calls too very easily - this makes for a very enriched birding for those with him! That he is a specialist became clear when he was able to predict that he would find the Hodgson's Frogmouth by looking at the habitat - and he did within minutes, though it was his first visit to the area! Though he carries a camera, unlike some other guides, his priority is to ensure that his clients get to photograph the birds first! For Rofikul, birding is a passion which gets transferred to everyone around him! I would love to go birding with him again and again!

Species spotted796It was my first Herping trip with Omkar. It was a great experience going to forest in search of amphibians and reptiles after dark. Omkar has great sight of all kind of wildlife. Way to go Omkar.
We did two nature trips in Goa with Omkar and thoroughly enjoyed. Omkar possesses excellent knowledge about nature overall....i.e. the terrain, birds, animals, butterflies and the people too. He is so well versed with bird calls that I was really amazed. All the best Omkar.
Omkar has wide ranging interests, including birds, herps, and butterflies, and is phenomenally good with identifying calls.
Always enthusiastic, he is great company, and cheerfully puts in extra effort to fulfill individual targets.
Apart from the birding and herping, I remember the interesting conversations we had with him on topics ranging from the ecology of habitats to ethics in wildlife watching.
Any trip with him is highly recommended!
Omkar is a true naturalist with a great eye for birding. He has a thorough knowledge about the life and habits of birds....He is a great host too!!!
I took Omkar's services in 2018 when I went to Goa for birding. He has great eyes to locate the birds. He is very courteous as well. He is not only a great bird naturalist but he is a very good guide in Herping.
