At the 2019 Birdfair in England, Swarovski Optik debuted a prototype of its new Digital Guide, a monocular that enables bird species identification via artificial intelligence.
Swarovski’s digital monocular features an integrated camera that seamlessly connects with the Cornell Lab’s Merlin bird ID app, which can identify bird images via an AI-powered computer vision system. The Digital Guide is still a prototype that’s anticipated to launch in spring 2020.
